PhD Scientist / Cell Biologist, Drug Discovery (Boston)

Position Summary

Dewpoint is assembling a team to harness the power of biomolecular condensates—leveraging a transformative shift in the understanding of cellular biology regulation to discover and advance breakthrough small-molecule therapeutics.

We are seeking a creative, high-energy scientist with diverse experiences and interests in cellular biology and biochemistry. The successful applicant will have a strong scientific background and proven accomplishments in the use of cell lines, IPSC’s, and primary cells to model human disease for mechanism of action experiments, target validation, and high-throughput screening to support drug discovery projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in identifying novel disease mechanisms in complex cell types. Extensive hands-on cell line generation and assay development is preferred. This is an exciting and interdisciplinary role for a highly qualified and motivated individual. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative scientist with a passion for bringing novel medicines to patients. Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in the biological sciences or related fields

  • Additional 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience in industry setting strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a wide range of functional cell-based assays including but not limited to high content imaging, mechanism of action studies, and proteomics.

  • Experience with organoid/3-D cultures

  • Experienced in diverse molecular and cell biology techniques, including high throughput screening, western blots, fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner

  • Team oriented, highly motivated, execution focused with strong work ethic, ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and multidisciplinary environment

  • Highly adaptable and responsive to technical and business opportunities and needs – comfortable delivering against challenging commitments
